2 concerns, 1 possible solution

1.  On Friday evening, a concerned Summerville couple followed two suspicious people through the streets of Stovall, Kings, Dearing, McDowell, Johns and Walton Way.  They were unknown and demonstrating suspicious activity.  One was wearing a backpack and the other was carrying a luggage piece similar to a large art folio which appeared to be loaded. Dispatch was called several time but a car was not available.  Description is: scruffy looking, weathered,  middle age white female with dirty blond hair.  The other was a white or Hispanic male with dark hair.  Both wearing jackets.

2.  Henry St. residents are being advised “Freddie” is back making his rounds.  He name drops in order to gain trust but residents should be aware.  A sandwich was offered but he declined.

3.  SNA is negotiating with a local security company regarding random neighborhood patrols.  More on this to follow.

A week of crime

Sunday morning at Reid Memorial during 8:30 service a car was broken into.  Wednesday night on Central Ave. a truck’s toolbox was emptied.  On Thursday  morning around 9:30 a house was burglarized on Williams St.  In this case, their luggage was used as a way to transport the computer and other items.  Strangers are walking into our neighbor and usually riding out on some ones bike with other belongings in tow because they know they can.  Until we  truly get involved it will continue.  Let them know you are watching.

Auto break-in Gardner St. at ACC

During a busy afternoon at the tennis courts, a SUV was broken into minuets after parking near the side gate of the ACC.  The mother had planned on just pulling up and letting her son get in the car.  After not seeing him she exited the car and luckily made her other son join her as she approached the courts.  Her window was then smashed by a young black male man using a skateboard.  Her purse with cash in it and a digital camera was taken.  The perpetrator was last seen in the Lake Olmstead public housing area.   The victim wants this to be a wake up call to everyone about leaving children unattended in a car even momentarily.

BOLO- WHITE IMPALA WITH HEAVILY TINTED GLASS

This car was spotted leaving the scene of the home invasion on Milledge Rd.  An alert Summerville family spotted the white Chevrolet Impala  speeding away with the door open after a black male jumped into it.  Knowing something wasn’t right they followed but was unable to get the tag numbers other than noting it was a Ga plate.  Police were notified immediately.  Please look for this white Impala and if spotted try to get the tag # and report to crimewatch@summervilleaugusta.org or call/text to 706-294-7360.
